Make a Difference: VOLUNTEER!

We need your help to Stop Child Abuse Now. Whether you have a lot or just a little time to give, there are many ways you can fight child abuse as a Family Center volunteer.

This page will give you ideas of how you can help serve the children of Middle Tennessee. Please read through the descriptions and use the form below so that we will know more about you. Give us as much information as you can and we will review your request and contact you soon.

Development/Fundraising

  • Assist the Development Director in locating and analyzing potential funding sources
  • Support development of collateral materials (newsletter, annual report, etc.)
  • Experience in marketing and sales a plus
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • Personal computer with Internet and email capability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must pass background check
  • Hours: Variable, but flexible
  • Ability to come to Nashville Center two hours weekly
  • One year minimum commitment preferred, but exceptions made
  • May volunteer from home
Public Relations
  • Assist in raising the agency’s public profile in the community through the media, public speaking, etc.
  • Develop relationships with media and other entities
  • Education: Minimum of junior year in college or equivalent
  • Personal computer with Internet and email capability
  • Experience in public relations or media a plus
  • Hours: variable, but flexible
  • Ability to come to Nashville Center two hours weekly
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must pass background check
  • One year commitment preferred, but exceptions made
  • May volunteer from home

Office Support

  • Data entry
  • Answering phones/reception
  • Filing/Organizing
  • Parenting class registration
  • Other general office duties as needed
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Education: Minimum of high school diploma plus relevant experience
  • Computer experience
  • Hours: Minimum of two consecutive hours a week
  • Must pass background check
  • Data Entry experience preferred
  • Volunteer at Nashville and/or Murfreesboro Family Center
